When I was my son’s age, I spent hours reading. I would escape a lot of aspects of my childhood that I didn’t like. As I aged, I realized that some of the stuff that went on in our house was bizarre and scary. It’s ok, I had books. I’ve also had 5-years of analysis as an adult to get centered too 🙂
I heard an interview on NPR in which Judy Blume described her childhood living between New Jersey and south Florida. There was something magical about her childhood and about that time period in general. I loved that interview and when she was talking about real experiences that lead to her characters, I felt better than I had in a long time.

This is MY copy of one of the best books that I had ever read at the age that my son is now.
